Monkey Shoulder's Scotch Blended Smokey is the peaty version of the classic triple blend. Made by combining three small batches of Scottish Single Malts, it is characterised by typical vanilla and citrus aromas, combined with a hint of smoky oak, the perfect scent to give that extra twist to traditional cocktails. Delicious nevertheless also neat, perhaps with ice

The ‘Smokey’ Scotch Blended Malt Whisky from the Scottish brand Monkey Shoulder is a peated character distillate resulting from the union of fine malt whiskies from Scotland. Like the rest of the Monkey Shoulder range, this scotch whisky is created by bartenders for bartenders, specifically designed for mixing. In particular, as the name suggests, the ‘Smokey’ represents a reinterpretation of the whisky ‘The Original’ in a “smoky” key, using peat smoke in the malting process, able to convey the peculiar notes associated with this particular organic material of which Scotland is rich.

Monkey Shoulder ‘Smokey’ Scotch Blended Malt Whisky comes from the union of several single malt whiskies, all produced in Scotland with pure barley malt. Specifically, it consists of three different single malts from the small region of Speyside, located within the Highlands. All three of these scotch whiskies are produced in small batches through traditional pot still distillation, with the subsequent aging phase taking place in first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels.passage.

Upon visual examination, the ‘Smokey’ Scotch Whisky Blended Malt from Monkey Shoulder shows a dark amber color. On the nose, intense notes of smoked oak and delicate citrus hints emerge, all enhanced by peaty nuances and soft reminders of vanilla, barley candy, and ripe pear. On the palate, the creamy sensation and pseudo-sweetness provided by the alcohol is accompanied by valuable smoky notes of medium persistence. A peaty whisky born to be used in mixology to add a smoky touch to classic cocktails like the Old Fashioned and Whisky&Cola. Excellent also on its own, neat or on the rocks, to perfectly conclude a satisfying dinner.
