The Whisky "Little Bay" by Oban is a complex and elegant single malt, aged in two different type of casks and also in small casks. It is a most delicate and deeper expression tha the famous 14 years, characterized by aromas of fresh fruits and sweet spices

The Single Malt Whisky "Little Bay" is the most recent expression of the famous Oban distillery, located on the western coast of the Highlands. It arises from the intuition of the two master blenders Matthew Crow and Craig Wilson to create a more delicate, complex, and profound version of the classic Oban 14 years, the most famous single malt of the distillery, a cult whisky for enthusiasts.

The Little Bay is born from a particular maturation process: after the classic aging in ex-Bourbon American barrels and ex-Sherry European barrels, the obtained whiskies are blended and placed to mature in small ex-Bourbon barrels with a capacity of 200 liters called 'small cask', also known as 'quarter cask'. The total aging period is not declared, but it is evident to anyone who tastes the "Little Bay" how the prolonged contact with the small barrels has made the whisky extremely deep, smooth, and complex, devoid of smoky and peaty notes.

The aromatic profile of the Single Malt Whisky "LittleBay" of Oban is dominated by notes of citrus and fresh fruit and by complex sweet and spicy nuances, where one can recognize honey, cloves, chocolate, cinnamon, and even freshly cut grass. All this to demonstrate how great Scottish single malt whiskies do not necessarily have to be peaty and smoky to express all their complexity and aromatic richness.
