From our sommeliers

The Vitovska by Skerk is an expressive, rich, and very territorial white wine, vinified with long maceration on the skins and aged for a year in large barrels. Fascinating vegetal aromas of flowers and green tea animate an intense, savory, and persistent sip

The Vitovska from Skerk is a stunning border white, a testament to one of the best hands in the world of artisanal wine. When talking about Sandi Skerk and his wines, we believe we are discussing one of the most sensitive producers in Carso, capable like few others of combining the vigorous contribution of the skins during winemaking with a style that remains elegant and enjoyable. The setting is that of the strip of land that separates Italy and Slovenia, and the vineyard practices are aimed at total respect for the integrity of plant and fruit, therefore the use of any chemical or synthetic substances is banned. Dominating are obviously the extraordinary local indigenous grape varieties such as Vitovska and Malvasia, alongside grape varieties that have now become local heritage such as Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio. Truly stunning bottles that have the power to unite anyone who approaches them.

The Vitoska from Skerk is produced with pure grapes of the same name, cultivated in Ograde, the watershed between Italy and Slovenia. In the vineyard, the principles of organic farming are followed, therefore chemical substances are banned.helping itself only with a bit of copper and sulfur. In the winery, the same mentality is followed, therefore spontaneous alcoholic fermentation takes place in wooden barrels and maceration for a few days on the skins. No clarification or filtration before bottling.

The Vitovska wine from Skerk presents itself in the glass with an enchanting amber hue. The nose is extraordinary in how it combines spontaneity and definition, revealing notes of peach melba, wild herbs, honey, and eucalyptus. On the palate, the liquid impresses with its seductive and creamy texture as well as its saline charge that significantly extends its persistence. An experiential bottle.
