The Vermentino "Albablu" Campo alle Comete 2021 is a Vermentino from the Livorno coast, in the Bolgheri area famous for its reds: in short, out of the ordinary. It is an intense white, with fruity notes of grapefruit, apple, and intriguing floral hints of mimosa. It has a certain minerality and is pleasantly rich in the mouth, where freshness and aromaticity persist for a long time. A wine to be enjoyed young, accompanying a seafood pasta dish
The Vermentino "Albablu" from Campo alle Comete is born in Bolgheri, Tuscany, from the project of the Feudi di San Gregorio winery to export their working philosophy and experience outside the Campania region to create products that are deeply in tune with tradition and the history of the place, bearing the signature of the Capaldo Family. The vineyards are located in Castagneto Carducci, a wonderful territory always suited for the production of wines of sublime quality.
The grapes of the Vermentino "Albablu" from Campo alle Comete are cultivated in vineyards near the Tyrrhenian Sea, surrounded by the beautiful Tuscan hills like an amphitheater to create a landscape of inimitable beauty. The climate is characterized by particularly cold winters due to winds from the sea, and in summer the high temperatures are mitigated by the marine influence, making them not excessively high and sultry. The solar exposure is excellent and ensures optimal ripening of the grapes. Once the harvest is completed, alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel and it follows a brief stop on the fine lees. It matures for several months in steel and two months in the bottle.
The color of the Vermentino "Albablu" from Campo alle Comete presents itself to the eye as a light yellow almost tending towards white paper with pale green reflections. The aromas recall grapefruit, white flowers and mineral hints on the finish; on the palate it is balanced, aromatic with a pronounced sapidity and minerality on the finish. It pairs perfectly with fish and shellfish appetizers, as well as risottos seasoned with seafood; also interesting with grilled fish, sushi, and sashimi, but also with white meats. An excellent product to enjoy during summer barbecues by the sea at sunset to savor all the authentic flavors of the Tuscan land.
