The Trebbiano d'Abruzzo 'Malandrino' by Cataldi Madonna is an everyday wine, light and easy to drink, which surprises thanks to its rich and wide bouquet that ranges from notes of wildflowers to fruity and citrus hints. On the palate, it reveals a beautiful freshness and a persistence that makes it the perfect companion for both fish and white meats.

The Trebbiano d'Abruzzo ‘Malandrino’ Cataldi Madonna is a direct, straightforward, and immediate white wine that perfectly represents the varietal characteristics of this historic white grape variety. Its bouquet expresses fruity and citrus notes of great freshness and sapidity, making it easy and smooth to drink. It is the quintessential Abruzzese white, always considered the everyday wine, and today, thanks to careful vineyard management and precise vinification, it is demonstrating its undisputed value, not only for its great pleasure in youth but also for its extraordinary aging and evolution qualities.

The Trebbiano d'Abruzzo ‘Malandrino’ wine is born in Ofena, in a flat plateau located at an altitude between 320 and 450 meters, at the foot of the Gran Sasso massif and the Monti della Laga. The area benefits from a very particular microclimate, characterized by warm and sunny days, always refreshed by winds descending from the mountains and the nearby Calderone glacier. It is no coincidence that in this area there are the oldest testimonies of vine cultivation.of the vine in Abruzzo, before its presence spread along the hills of the Adriatic coast. The Trebbiano grapes come from two different vineyards: one located in Mandrella, with vines trained on trellises and a density of 5000 plants per hectare; the other in Frontone with an old Abruzzese pergola system, planted with a density of 1500 plants per hectare. Fermentation takes place in steel at a controlled temperature of 15-18°C. The wine matures in contact with the fine lees for several months with periodic bâtonnage, before being bottled.

The white Trebbiano d'Abruzzo 'Malandrino' by Cataldi Madonna perfectly represents the ancient tradition of Abruzzese viticulture: It is the synthesis of a suitable terroir and a historic grape variety of the region. In the glass, it presents a bright straw yellow color. On the nose, it expresses delicate floral, fruity, and citrus aromas. The sip is of vibrant freshness, which unfolds with juicy fruit towards a good final persistence.
