The Torcolato di Breganze by Firmino Miotti is a passito wine of great elegance and enveloping that smells of dried fruit, honey and medicinal herbs. From the sweet taste of dates and apricots, however, it is perfectly balanced by a lively fresh vein that embellishes the sip of this sumptuous amber-colored nectar

The Torcolato di Breganze by Firmino Miotti is a passito obtained from the grapes of the indigenous Vespaiolo variety in purity. It is an ancient sweet wine of the Venetian tradition. Its name seems to derive from the Latin term torculum, which referred to the practice of pressing dried grapes with a wine press. It is a seductive wine, with a complex and persistent aromatic profile, particularly suitable for pairing with dry pastries or a platter of aged or blue cheeses.

The Torcolato di Breganze is produced by the winemaker Firmino Miotti with patient artisanal care. The small family business is located in the territory of Breganze, north of the city of Vicenza. The vineyards are cultivated on the Colle di Santa Lucia, a hill of ancient volcanic origin, which, thanks to sunny and ventilated exposures and mineral-rich soils, allows the grapes to reach perfect ripeness. Firmino Miotti has always focused on enhancing the typical grape varieties of the Vicenza area, with the intent of producing genuine and straightforward wines, linked to the history of his land. The Torcolato represents the highest qualitative expression of Breganze wines, known for centuries as a true excellence. At the end of the harvest, the best bunches of grapes, the healthiest and most sparse, are hung to dry in well-ventilated rooms. In January, the pressing and slow vinification of the must takes place, which spontaneously halts its fermentation, leaving residual sugars. The Torcolato matures in steel tanks for about 36 months before being bottled.

The dessert wine Torcolato di Breganze from the winery of Firmino Miotti is the emblematic label of the territory, renewing the great Venetian tradition in the production of sweet wines. It is a particularly precious label, representing a small production of high quality. The color is amber, with bright golden reflections. The olfactory profile is broad and multifaceted, with aromas of raisins, dried fruit, dates, baked apple, and honey. The sip is soft and enveloping, with an intense and sweet mid-palate, which extends harmoniously towards a pleasantly fresh and balanced finish.
