The Sauvignon Blanc from Los Vascos is born in Chile, precisely in the Colchagua Valley region. The winery was initially founded by the Echenique family, migrants who arrived in these areas from the Basque Country; subsequently, in 1988 it was bought by the Rothschild-Lafite, a prestigious family with centuries of experience in France in the world of winemaking. The estate was renamed “Lo Vascos” in honor of the Echenique. Today the land holdings extend over about two thousand hectares, of which five hundred are planted with vines.
The vineyards of the Sauvignon Blanc from Los Vascos are located at about 130 meters above sea level, a few kilometers from the Pacific Ocean. The soil is predominantly composed of calcareous and dry land, among others suitable for the cultivation of Bordeaux varieties; the climate is influenced by ocean currents, with mild temperatures both in summer and winter, good solar exposure for excellent grape ripening, and constant ventilation. Once the harvest is completed, an alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel with selected yeasts.selected. It ages for a few months in steel tanks before being bottled.
The color of the Sauvignon Blanc from Los Vascos is a straw yellow with golden reflections. On the nose, it expresses notes of yellow fruit such as apples and plums and a marked mineral scent, characteristic of Sauvignon. On the palate, citrus sensations, liveliness, pervasive freshness, and a good overall balance invite one to drink glass after glass. It is excellent paired with fish dishes such as roasted sea bass, but also with vegetarian dishes. A product to be enjoyed during dinners with friends to toast to carefree moments and savor in the glass a product, the result of the work and experience of producers who have been committed to the industry for centuries.
