The Saperavi by Nika Bakhia is an artisanal red wine, an authentic and vigorous portrait of how wine has always been made in Georgia. It is vinified exclusively in typical buried amphorae, spending a long time in contact with the skins to extract all the best juice. It is not filtered, so it is normal to find some residue at the bottom. The aroma is intense and engaging, with red fruit, underbrush, dry leaves, and hints of smokiness. On the palate, it is crunchy, concentrated, incisive, with a vibrant tannic structure and persistent freshness.

The Saperavi “Amor” by Nika Bakhia is a deep and ancestral portrait of the winemaking Georgia, an emotional and engaging liquid. The homeland of viticulture and a mythological land for wine lovers, particularly of artisanal wine, Georgia always exerts an extraordinary charm also thanks to some producers who enhance its tradition and vocation. Nika Bakhia, a winery located in the famous region of Kakheti, is undoubtedly one of the realities that intimately and profoundly restore this millennial connection between man and nature, also thanks to a return to the oldest winemaking processes, using the Georgian Qvevri, a large terracotta amphora reminiscent of the Roman Dolium. The varieties used, needless to say, are local ones such as Saperavi, Rkatsiteli, Tavkveri, Khikhvi, and Mstvane, capable of creating exciting portraits of the territory.

The “Amor” Saperavi wine is a pure expression of Saperavi, obtained from 30-year-old vines located in the Kakheti region, trained in a double cordon on soils rich in carbonate.black. Agriculture, as per tradition, is decidedly non-interventionist, therefore only copper and sulfur are used to preserve the extraordinary local heritage. In the winery, spontaneous fermentation takes place with whole clusters in terracotta amphorae and aging for at least  12 months in buried terracotta amphorae, locally called “qvevri”.

The “Amor” Bakhia presents itself in the glass with an intense and impenetrable ruby red color. Nose visceral and exciting, rich in references to the earth, underbrush, dry leaves, ripe fruit, and oriental spices. The exciting olfactory profile is confirmed by a full and vigorous sip, of unsuspected aromatic definition, where the remarkable persistence is driven by a finely crafted tannin. Authoritativeness.
