The "Sandrigo" is a surprising and original interpretation by Denis Montanar, a talented winemaker from the lower Friuli region, a pioneer of organic farming since 1996, a member of the international association Reinassance, and today one of the most interesting protagonists of the revival of artisanal wine in Italy. This label offers a colorful portrait of the territory and one of its most typical grape varieties, characterized by vivid streaks that evoke, with unparalleled expressive strength, exotic and tropical imaginations.
The white wine "Sandrigo" is produced by Denis Montanar in accordance with a coherent and personal production philosophy, developed over more than 20 harvests, aimed at enhancing the micro-territory of Borc Dodon, in the municipality of Villa Vicentina, in the province of Udine, where the Montanar family has been growing grapes and producing wine for four generations. For this reason, every phase of production, from the vineyard to the cellar, is personally conducted by Denis without compromising and without yielding to the shortcuts offered by modern chemistry: the vineyards are grown relying only on natural fertilizers and low quantities of sulfur, the alcoholic and malolactic fermentations occur spontaneously in steel tanks, and finally, no clarifications or filtrations are carried out.
The "Sandrigo" by Denis Montanar amazes with its energetic vitality, all played on a freshness of the fruit that integrates masterfully with the mineral nuances of the soil where the vines, over 30 years old, are rooted. The straw-yellow hue of the liquid is streaked with bright green glimmers and a subtle veil due to natural residues. The aromas are intensely fruity, capable of evoking the scent of citrus juices, lime juice, fresh exotic fruit, and aromatic herbs such as thyme and lemon balm. The sip is juicy and very fresh, invigorating, flavorful, energetic and overwhelming. Its aromatic face thus presents itself without reticence, in full light, showcasing characteristics that arise from the prolific and vital blend of fruit and mineral salts.
