The Sancerre “Comte Lafond” is a label that belongs to one of the most famous French Appellations for the production of great white wines made from Sauvignon Blanc. Its characteristics of mineral freshness, finesse, and aromatic intensity make it perfect for accompanying a refined dinner of fish or shellfish. The Domaine Baron de Ladoucette is a historic and prestigious name in the Loire Valley, and its labels have always been a guarantee of elegance and quality.
The Sancerre Baron de Ladoucette is born from magnificent vineyards cultivated along the Loire. In particular, the Sauvignon Blanc grapes used for this wine come from plots cultivated in the territories of the municipalities of Amigny, Bue, Chavignol, Reigny, and Verdigny, located on the left bank of the river. The grapes are vinified in stainless steel, in a very slow and low-temperature manner, to preserve the floral and fruity components of the precious aromatic profile. For the aging period, no wood is used, and the wine rests for about 2 years in steel, in order to enhance the varietal characteristics and the expressive purity of Sauvignon Blanc.
The Sancerre “Comte Lafond” allows one to understand the charm and allure of this famous terroir, renowned for centuries for producing great white wines that are elegant, intense, fresh, and long-lived. In the glass, it has a straw-yellow color with brilliant reflections. The bouquet opens with refined floral scents, aromas of white fruit, and hints of wild herbs and flint. The attack on the palate is of vibrant freshness, which unfolds into a mid-palate of ripe fruit, crossed by a savoriness that makes the sip lively and dynamic. The finish is characterized by a pleasant aromatic persistence.
