The Classic Sambuca from the Piedmontese production reality of Antica Distilleria Quaglia is a liqueur with a sweet and strong sensory profile, made with carefully selected ingredients according to the Quaglia family recipe. This historic distillery is located in Castelnuovo Don Bosco, in the province of Asti, where the Quaglia family has been dedicated to the production of liqueurs and distillates since 1890. This bottle belongs to the ‘Italian Classics’ line, a selection of products that are part of the Italian liqueur tradition, crafted artisanally based on historical recipes from the Quaglia family. Since 2018, the distillery, led by Carlo Quaglia, the fourth generation at the helm, is also certified organic.
Antica Distilleria Quaglia Classic Sambuca is produced according to the ancient recipe of the Quaglia family, starting from a meticulous selection of Italian ingredients, such as star anise and elderflower. It seems that the name of this liqueur actually comes from the seeds of the elderflower, usually used in its preparation. Other ingredients include water, alcohol, and sugar.
Visually, the Classic Sambuca from Antica Distilleria Quaglia appears transparent and crystalline. The olfactory range offers intense aromas of elderflower and star anise that describe a sweet, strong, and pleasant texture, with exceptional expressive richness. The taste confirms sweetness and intensity, well balanced by an appetizing aromatic vein that leads to a very persistent finish. The producer himself suggests enjoying this sambuca with a few ice cubes and the traditional coffee bean.
