The red wine Sagona is a full-bodied and structured expression, produced with vinification in steel. It has aromas of sour cherries, ripe fruit, spices, leather and tobacco. The taste is full-bodied, rich, intense and juicy, supported by good freshness and balanced tannins.

The red Sàgona, produced by the homonymous Tuscan winery, is a red wine of great territoriality and class. The long aging gives a ripe and harmonious red, with expressive fruit, enriched by notes of tertiary evolution of elegant expressive complexity. It is a label with a typically territorial personality, perfectly embodying a strong character, with a straightforward taste profile that recalls the good artisanal wine of the past.

The Sàgona wine originates from a small reality located in Pratomagno, in the province of Arezzo. In an uncontaminated territory with a genuine agricultural and peasant face, there is a small farm, which includes an agriturismo with an osteria and 4 hectares of vineyard, cultivated at almost 500 meters above sea level. The vineyards are about forty years old and are managed under organic farming, using only copper and sulfur. The low yields allow for grapes of great richness and aromatic concentration, which express the character of the terroir well. The vinifications are conducted trying to respect the raw material as much as possible, with minimal oenological intervention.to respect the raw material as much as possible, with minimal oenological intervention. Thus, wines with an authentic face are born, capable of perfectly interpreting the best characteristics of this wild part of Italy.

The Sàgona is the red par excellence, a child of native grape varieties from the area, cultivated on prized medium-textured soils with clay. At the end of the harvest, destemming and fermentation in steel with indigenous yeasts take place, followed by a maceration period on the skins of about 25 days. It presents a ruby red color, with brilliant purple veins. On the nose, it releases intense aromas of ripe cherry, marasca, and small red berry fruits, spicy notes, tobacco, leather, and hints of aromatic herbs. On the palate, it has a good structure, with dense tannins well integrated into the body of the wine, an aromatic, intense, and juicy sip. The finish is harmonious and has great taste persistence.
