The "Ruinas" by Depperu is a pure Vermentino, always considered the flagship wine of the winery. Vinified exclusively in steel containers, it releases fresh and lively scents of plum, sage, basil, and green tea with salty waves in the finish. On the palate, it enters warm and energetic with a mineral push that supports the sip until the end

The "Ruinas" from the Sardinian winery Depperu is a pure Vermentino of particular quality, born in the splendid hilly territory of Gallura. A wine with a typically Mediterranean character, a child of the sun and the Maestrale, which characterize the climate of northern Sardinia. The aging solely in steel preserves the varietal bouquet, expressing notes of orange blossom, wild and medicinal herbs of the Mediterranean scrub, white fruit, and iodine and marine hints. The taste is of great balance, with fruity aromas, vegetal nuances, freshness, and a saline and mineral vein, almost brackish. A great white to pair with traditional seafood dishes.

The Vermentino "Ruinas" is born in the estate owned, located right in the heart of Gallura, in Luras, just northeast of Tempio Pausania. The vines are located on hills at an altitude of about 350 meters above sea level, on medium-textured soils of granitic decomposition, with the presence of sands. The training system of the vines is a spurred cordon, with a yield that does not reach the 70 quintals per hectare. The agronomic management is focused on the minimal use of systemic products, with treatments carried out almost exclusively with sulfur and copper and autumn fertilizations with composted organic fertilizers. At the end of the soft pressing of the grapes, the must is statically decanted and started to fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine always ages in steel containers, with partial malolactic fermentation.

The wine "Ruinas" is considered the flagship white of the Depperu winery. The label that best represents the land of Gallura and its most typical and famous grape variety. It is an elegant, intense, and refined Vermentino, which expresses the characteristic varietal notes and the peculiarities of the terroir of this particular region of Sardinia. The color is straw yellow with greenish reflections. The olfactory profile recalls scents of orange blossom and white flowers, vegetal nuances of sage, basil, typical herbs of the spontaneous vegetation of the area, white fruit, and marine memories. On the palate is harmonious and balanced, with saline freshness, opening up to delicately fruity hints and Mediterranean scrub. The finish is of beautiful length and persistence.
