The "Monsordo" by Ceretto is a red wine produced from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah grapes that ages for 16 months in tonneau. A classic Bordeaux blend in Piedmontese land! Characterized by intense underbrush notes accompanied by spicy hints that lead to a balanced and enveloping sip.

The "Monsordo" is a red wine from the famous Piedmont winery Ceretto, born from the desire to also measure up to great international grape varieties. The wine is produced with two noble Bordeaux grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, combined with Syrah, the most famous variety cultivated in the Rhône Valley. An unusual blend that offers an intense red, with aromas of berries, ripe red fruit, and spices. The palate is complex, soft, and broad, with balanced freshness and a finish on the typical black pepper notes of Syrah.

The Red "Monsordo" is born in the Monsordo Bernardina estate, which extends in the Alba area, covering about thirty hectares, cultivated around the historic farmhouse that houses the Ceretto winery. In the 1990s, alongside traditional indigenous red grape varieties, some international varieties were planted to assess their adaptation and concrete potential in the Langhe terroir. The vines are grown at about 300 meters above sea level, on soils composed of clay, silt, and sand. After some experiments with single-varietal vinification, in 1997 the project was born to create a blended wine, combining the grapes that best acclimatized to the territory: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. The three varieties are harvested and vinified separately, following their different maturation periods. Fermentations are conducted in temperature-controlled steel vats and the different wines are aged in tonneau for 16 months before proceeding to the final blending and subsequent bottling.

The "Monsordo" wine is a red with a typically international profile, which completes the Ceretto range, with a keen eye on the taste of foreign markets. The use of French grape varieties, known worldwide, makes it easily interpretable and the long aging in wood helps to give it a soft, harmonious, and slightly oaky profile, particularly appreciated by foreign consumers. The color is intense ruby red, on the nose it opens up with aromas of marasca cherry, small berries, hints of jam, and cherry in alcohol.spices. On the palate, it has good structure, with deep and persistent aromas, an evolved and well-integrated tannic texture. The finish is harmonious, with pleasant spicy notes.
