Rosso 'Ca' del Merlo' Quintarelli 2017

The Rosso “Ca’ del Merlo” is a skillful blend made from different grapes, the result of Quintarelli's experience in creating great wines. A true puzzle of grape varieties, which gives rise to intense aromas and a sip where, thanks also to the seven years of aging in wood, structure and softness merge into a fine drink. A label to consider also as a forward-looking investment, given that it has the ability to evolve and mature in the bottle for more than the next 10 years.

Ca’ del Merlo is a Rosso that comes from a careful blend from which the great ability of the Quintarelli winery in the art of blending is evident. In fact, we find Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella making up the backbone of the wine, to which is added 15% composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Nebbiolo, Croatina, and Sangiovese. The grapes of these varieties, once harvested, macerate for about 3-4 days, and then ferment thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts. A second alcoholic refermentation is then carried out using the ripasso technique.on the pomace of Amarone. Subsequently, it goes through aging, which lasts for a remarkable 84 months in large Slavonian oak barrels.

The Rosso “Ca’ del Merlo” manifests itself in the glass with an intense color, reminiscent of ruby. Layered and complex are the aromas that develop on the nose, with notes of ripe fruit and spices that blend into a very enveloping profile. On the palate, it has excellent structure, round, balanced, with an energetic sip; it finishes with a persistent aftertaste. A bottle that comes from meticulous production, with which the Quintarelli winery gives us the perfect wine to accompany important dishes based on red meat and game.
