The Pinot Noir from Sancaba is an elegant red wine with good structure from the Tuscan Apennine area. It is aged in large barrels and cement, revealing a clean, refined, and pure sip, with a well-integrated tannic texture, a pleasant fresh note, and a bouquet of berries, spices, cherry, and red flowers

The Pinot Nero from Sancaba is an intriguing label, produced by this prestigious Tuscan winery, which has always delivered high-level versions of the most famous international grape varieties. The wine is born in the Sacaba estate, located in the hilly area of San Casciano dei Bagni, specifically chosen for its pedoclimatic characteristics, making it very suitable for hosting the vines of the great Burgundy grape. It is a prestigious label, in the style of one of the most esteemed brands of Italian wine, made in a limited number of bottles highly sought after by Pinot Nero connoisseurs. It is a fine and elegant red, with delicate aromas of berries, enriched by refined tertiary evolution notes, making the sip complex, long, and captivating.

This Pinot Nero is a creation of Andrea Franchetti, who, in addition to the Sancaba estate, owns the Tenuta di Trinoro in Val d'Orcia and the Tenuta Passopisciaro on Etna. His activity has always been characterized by the search for great terroirs to produce excellent labels. The Sancaba area is characterized by wild nature, still occupied by large wooded areas. The Pinot Nero vines are between 5 and 11 years old and are cultivated at an altitude of 650 meters above sea level. The climate is particularly cool, with constant winds blowing from the northeast and significant temperature fluctuations between day and night. The soils are composed of calcareous-clay marls mixed with friable schist stones, very suitable for viticulture aimed at low yields per hectare. The continental climate and the nature of the soils are perfect for Pinot Nero, which matures slowly in October. Between the rows, green manuring is practiced, and the vines are treated only with copper and sulfur, without the use of chemicals. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and large barrels. The wine matures for 6 months in second-pass barrels and completes aging with 14 months in cement tanks before bottling. The red Pinot Nero produced by Sancaba is a high-end wine, dedicated to great enthusiasts who love to discover interesting versions of Pinot Nero from new territories for the Burgundy grape. The central and Apennine Tuscany area is proving to be particularly suitable for the French grape, and the Sancaba version confirms this trend. Visually, it presents a beautiful bright ruby red color. On the nose, it offers aromas of red currant, raspberry, cherry, wild strawberries, floral nuances, and delicate spicy hints. On the palate, it is elegant and smooth, with finely nuanced aromas well integrated with a velvety tannic texture. The finish is fresh, long, and persistent.
