The taste is rich, decisive, enveloping and with a long finish and excellent aromatic persistence
The Pinot Grigio from the La Roncaia winery is a beautiful interpretation of this interesting French grape variety, cultivated for centuries in the lands of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The climate and soils of the splendid area of the Colli Orientali have proven perfect for enhancing its most authentic character, made of a perfect balance between aromatic richness and mineral freshness. The choices of wooden vinification and a long aging period allow the wine to achieve a pleasant aromatic complexity, making the sip very intense, long, and persistent.
The Pinot Grigio La Roncaia wine comes from a Friulian winery that is part of the important Fantinel group. The vineyards are located on the hills of Nimis, in the northern area of the Colli Orientali, near the first Pre-Alpine reliefs. The soils are composed of marls of sandstones and limestone of Eocene origin, the famous Friulian "ponca", rich in precious mineral substances. The climate is particularly cool and characterized by significant temperature excursions, allowing for a maturation of grapes with very intense aromas. The harvest takes place during the month of September, and the best bunches are sent for fermentation in French oak barriques from Allier. The aging always takes place in barriques for about a year, followed by a bottle refinement of a few months.
The white Pinot Grigio, produced by the La Roncaia winery, is a fruity wine with a particularly soft profile, which is experiencing a period of great success, especially in international markets. Its pleasant taste, its extraordinary versatility at the table, make it particularly suitable for pairings with vegetable risottos, seafood risottos, soups, and broths. In the glass, it presents a light straw yellow color with brilliant coppery reflections. The bouquet is broad and intense, with aromas of white-fleshed fruit, peach, pear, hints of tropical fruit, and nuances of soft spices. The sip is rich and seductive, with ripe and creamy fruit, leading to a harmonious finish, characterized by a pleasant savory vein.
