Pinot Grigio Girlan 2024 (tappo stelvin)
The Pinot Grigio by Girlan is a white wine from Alto Adige with a fresh and alpine personality, born from vines located in the prestigious company cru of Cornaiano. The nose is dominated by the mineral component softened by notes of crunchy white fruit and hints of mountain herbs and flowers. On the palate, it is balanced and soft, with a distinct and intense fresh and mineral component.
The Pinot Grigio from Girlan is a white wine that combines the typical freshness of mountain wines with the soft and rich profile of Pinot Grigio, which tends, by its nature, to produce wines of great breadth and aromatic intensity. The French grape variety has been cultivated for centuries in the area of Bassa Atesina, where it has found the cool climate and suitable soils to express itself with particularly elegant and refined notes. As with the entire collection of Girlan wines, the winery in Cornaiano has managed to best interpret the peculiar characteristics of the grape variety, creating a wine with recognizable territorial traits.
The Pinot Grigio wine is produced with grapes that come from vineyards cultivated in the area of Cornaiano, on the hills of Oltradige, at an altitude of 450-500 meters above sea level. The vines sink their roots into mineral-rich soils, formed by slow sedimentation in distant glacial epochs. The sunny, yet always cool and breezy climate allows for a slow maturation of the grapes, with fine and elegant aromas. The harvest is manual and the grapes are brought immediately to the winery for soft pressing, followed by fermentation at controlled temperature in steel. The wine matures on the fine lees in steel for a few months before being bottled.
With the Pinot Grigio, Cantina Girlan aims to offer its interpretation of this great French grape variety, emphasizing finesse and expressive freshness. The result is a wine that showcases the best varietal characteristics, aligning with the nature of the terroir, to perfectly express the traits of the prized vineyards of Alto Adige. The color is straw yellow, intense and bright. On the nose, it expresses fragrant aromas of white fruit, citrus and floral hints, and nuances of mountain herbs. The palate is harmonious and soft, with delicate aromas of beautiful richness and persistence, culminating in a finish of good aromatic fullness.
