The Picolit by Marco Sara is a sweet wine obtained from the natural drying of grapes in the vineyard, through the action of Botrytis. On the nose, notes of honey, carob, cumin, dried fruit, and aromatic herbs are perceived. On the palate, it is soft at the entry of the sip, then elegantly explodes with mineral notes; it is dynamic, enveloping, and refined.

The Picolit by Marco Sara is the tangible expression of a viticulture attentive to the needs of the territory: what drives every single part of Marco Sara's work is the conviction that the most intimate essence of agriculture consists of a delicate system of practices, necessarily aimed at respecting the land to preserve the most genuine side of the produced grapes. For this reason, Marco Sara runs his business by observing the natural cycles of the vine and accommodating the most spontaneous and authentic characterization of his wines.

In the three properties of Marco Sara, Cjestenar de Guardie, Roncut, and Riu Falcon, in the westernmost part of the Colli Orientali del Friuli, the coexistence of forest and vineyard is fundamental, capable of creating a unique and almost unspoiled microclimate. The desire to favor the most traditional expression of the terroir is also expressed by the choice to cultivate only the indigenous varieties Picolit and Verduzzo, enhanced by the unique expression that noble rot (Botrytis) can bestow. The natural drying, slow and gradual, without any type of forced ventilation or dehumidification, to which the grapes aresubjected to the grapes follows the seasonal climatic harmony of Autumn, favoring the uniqueness of each wine due to the differences between one vintage and another.

The Picolit grapes, grown on the rich soil of marl and sandstone with a clayey texture locally called Ponka, follow two separate cycles for drying in distinct percentages: 30% encounters Botrytis on the plant itself with harvest in mid-November, while 70% undergoes a non-forced drying for about three months; the subsequent merging of the grapes anticipates the natural fermentation in demijohns and bottling without clarifications or filtrations. The great aromatic setup, measured against a residual sugar content of remarkable balance, gives the Picolit by Marco Sara sensations of rare finesse, at the peak of varietal expression.
