Pactio' Tenuta Fertuna 2021
The “Pactio” from Tenuta Fertuna is a red wine from Tuscany made from indigenous and international grape varieties, vinified in steel and aged for 4 months in French barrels. It has a rich and fruity aromatic profile, marked by notes of sour cherries, berries, and vanilla. The palate is expressive, fresh, and pleasantly tannic.
The “Pactio” by Tenuta Fertuna is a red wine produced in the hilly area of the Maremma Grossetana, capable of expressing the most typical face and the most authentic character of these lands. It is a blend with a majority percentage of Sangiovese, joined by two of the most famous and widespread international grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The choice of a rather short aging in wood favors the direct expression of the varietal characteristics of the grapes, which bring to the forefront fruity, rich, intense, and ripe aromas, supported by a good freshness that contributes to completing the overall balance of the wine.
The wine “Pactio” is born in a production reality of the Tuscan Maremma located in the Grilli area, near Gavorrano. In these lands, Tenuta Fertuna owns about 145 hectares, of which fifty are cultivated with vineyards within an uncontaminated natural context, characterized by the presence of olive trees and Mediterranean scrub. The poor soils, characterized by the presence of alberese and galestro, combined with a temperate Mediterranean climate, allow for the maturation of quality grapes, with particularly rich and intense aromatic profiles. Thus, wines of character are born, which reflect very well the sunny face of this magnificent land.
The red “Pactio” by Tenuta Fertuna is a wine of great pleasantness, created specifically to enhance the territory's vocation for producing labels with particularly smooth and immediate drinkability. The calibrated blending of indigenous and international grape varieties allows for the creation of a harmonious wine with great taste balance. The vinifications take place separately, following the harvest periods of the different varieties. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks with skin maceration and, before bottling, the wine matures for 4 months in Allier tonneau. In the glass, it has a brilliant ruby red color and on the nose, it recalls aromas of sour cherry, ripe cherry, berries, hints of vanilla, spices, and licorice. The sip is soft and expressive, with a fragrant fruit and a finish of pleasant freshness. It is a wine very suitable for accompanying traditional dishes of the local cuisine.
