Nero d'Avola 'Lu Patri' Baglio del Cristo di Campobello 2021
The Nero d’Avola "Lu Patri" is a soft and round wine that expresses with intensity and good structure the Sicilian territory. After 15 months of aging in barrels and many more in bottle, it presents itself evoking blackberries, sour cherries, aromatic and balsamic herbs. On the palate, it is velvety, warm, and generous, with enveloping tannins and good persistence
The Nero d'Avola “Lu Patri” from Baglio del Cristo di Campobello is an extremely territorial wine, which encapsulates Sicily, its long and scorching summers tempered by the fresh breezes coming from the Sicilian Channel, and its strong and determined character. The Baglio, which takes its name from a wooden sculpture placed at the entrance of the winery, and everything surrounding it are the result of the will and visionary dream of the Bonetta family.
Their work is, in fact, a team effort: father Angelo dedicates himself to the vineyards, while sons Domenico and Carmelo are among the estates and in the winery, never holding back, Giuseppe Lentini is the company’s oenologist, best supported by the consultancy of Roberto Cotarella. The fruit of their passion for their land is all in the labels that the winery manages to produce: all above the threshold of excellence.
The Nero d’Avola “Lu Patri” is supported by a decisive and elegant tannic vein, which makes it truly an intense wine, surprisingly rich in aromas. With this Nero d’Avola, the production philosophy of the Bonetta family has truly managed to remain in the bottle: with every sip of the “Lu Patri” it really feels like savoring a piece of Sicily.
