Mainly composed of Nerello Mascalese, it also includes small quantities of Nerello Cappuccio, thus contributing to the creation of a sip of great intensity and vivid freshness. This interpretation of Nerello Mascalese is the result of a production philosophy where respect for the environment is the foundation of a work that has as its reference points an idea of craftsmanship and centuries-old traditions.
“A Culonna” Nerello Mascalese Vini Scirto begins its story with a strictly manual harvest, in order to select the best bunches to work with later and avoid dangerous damage to the grapes. Brought to the winery, the grapes are placed inside steel tanks where spontaneous fermentation will then be activated with indigenous yeasts. Without any addition of sulfites or filtration, the wine is transferred into oak barrels of various
sizes for a variable period of 18 to 24 months.The Nerello Mascalese “A Culonna” from the Vini Scirto winery is a wine with a strong ruby red color with sweet garnet tendencies.
