The Mount Hermon Bianco from the Israeli winery Golan Heights Yarden is a fresh and aromatic wine, made from a blend of international grapes, traditionally grown on the heights of Golan. The grapes Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, and Moscato Bianco contribute to giving the wine an intense, seductive profile and a good richness of fruit. Like all the labels marketed by the Golan Heights Winery, the Mount Hermon Bianco is also a kosher wine, produced following the religious rules authorized by the Rabbis and therefore drinkable even by Orthodox Jews.
The grapes for the Mount Hermon Bianco come from vineyards cultivated in the area that rises from the Sea of Galilee up to the slopes of Mount Hermon, at an altitude ranging from 400 to 1,200 meters. The cool and temperate climate, with significant temperature variations between day and night and the soils rich in basalt, of ancient volcanic origin, constitute an ideal habitat for vine cultivation. In particular, the white grape varieties, such as Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, and Moscato Bianco, have proven to mature very well, with fresh and refined aromatic profiles. The traditional white winemaking takes place entirely in steel, with low-temperature fermentations, to preserve the freshness, fruity fragrance, and primary aromas of the grapes.
The Mount Hermon Bianco expresses the characteristics of its origin area very well, combining the Mediterranean aromatic richness with the freshness of high-altitude viticulture. It has a bright straw-yellow color with greenish reflections. On the nose, it expresses floral aromas, citrus notes, white fruit, peach, melon, and more mature tropical hints. On the palate, it impresses with the intensity of the aromas, combined with a lively and pleasant freshness. It pairs well with raw fish dishes and, more generally, with seafood menus featuring delicate flavors.
