The "Ruju" Mirto by Istinto Sardo is an artisanal liqueur produced in Ogliastra only with water, sugar, alcohol and myrtle berries, without the addition of flavorings or dyes. With a Ruju color (intense red) with typical violet hues, it has a pleasantly astringent, enveloping and rich taste. A perfect digestive that evokes the Mediterranean scents and the summer atmospheres of the Sardinian land

The Mirto “Ruju”, produced by Istinto Sardo, is the most typical liqueur of the island, the one that best expresses the character of the land of Olgiastra, its wild and unspoiled nature, and the generous and lush Mediterranean scrub of Sardinia. It is the label that tells the story of a territory and ancient family traditions, through a high-quality artisanal production, based on recipes handed down through the centuries. Excellent raw materials sourced from the territory, meticulous care, passion, and the desire to pass down, from generation to generation, the precious treasures that are part of the cultural heritage of Sardinia.

“Ruju” is a Mirto liqueur born from the passion and desire to create a unique and absolutely special Mirto. Istinto Sardo has chosen to remain true to its land and to offer only bottles capable of telling the authentic scents and aromas of the Sardinian land. The liqueur is produced following traditional methods, using only and exclusively four natural ingredients: myrtle berries, alcohol, water, and sugar, with no added colorants or flavors. Every year, in December, the harvest of myrtle berries takes place in the Ogliastra countryside, still done by hand just like in the past, to preserve their integrity and maintain their organoleptic characteristics in the bottle. After a hydroalcoholic maceration of the myrtle berries for 45 days, only water and sugar are added to the infusion, before being left to rest in the bottle for another 45 days. Due to its artisanal nature, as is also the case with wine, the taste of Mirto changes from year to year, depending on the climate, the intensity of the sun, and the amount of rain. An aspect that contributes to making it a unique label different from the rest of the market and that seeks to rediscover each different vintage of the territory in a story of seasons that have followed one another for millennia: the long history of Sardinia.

is deep violet in color, dark and dense, with slight red reflections, as suggested by the very name of the label. The aromas are intense and rich, with a strong note of freshly picked myrtle berries, scents of the Mediterranean scrub, nuances of medicinal herbs, balsamic and iodized hints. The entry on the palate is soft and warm, with an enveloping and juicy sip, characterized by fruity aromas, which anticipate a harmonious and very persistent finish. According to tradition, it should be served chilled, but if you want to appreciate all the nuances of flavor, it is better to taste it at a temperature of 8-10 °C.
