The Manna is a white wine of good aromatic complexity, among the most famous and awarded expressions of Franz Haas, produced from the main grape varieties of South Tyrol. It has exuberant aromas of spices, flowers, and exotic fruit, and a soft, rich, long, and savory taste

“Manna” is a white wine from Alto Adige produced by the Franz Haas winery, made from five varieties of white grapes typical of the area. It has a rich personality, multifaceted, varied, and ready to amaze. For this reason, Franz Haas has dedicated it to his wife Maria Luisa Manna since the first vintage in 1995. The Franz Haas winery is located in Montagna, in the province of Bolzano, and its vineyards extend at altitudes ranging from 240 to 1150 meters, allowing for the production of fine and long-lived wines. Notable are the labels of the bottles produced by this important production reality: created by the artist Riccardo Schweizer, who in the past collaborated with giants like Picasso, Chagall, Cocteau, and Le Corbusier.

The white wine “Manna” is obtained from five different grape varieties: Riesling, Chardonnay, Traminer Aromatico, Sauvignon, and a small percentage of Kerner. They come from various vineyards located at altitudes between 350 and 800 meters. The soils and microclimates are therefore also different, and this implies a staggered timing in the periods of grape maturation. Therefore, they are vinified separately, based on the variety. Chardonnay and Sauvignon undergo alcoholic fermentation in barriques, while Riesling, Kerner, and Traminer ferment in steel tanks. Once the fermentation phase is completed, the wines are blended according to the best combination and rest on the lees for about ten months. After this maturation period, it is bottled and left to rest in glass for a few months before commercialization.

The Manna Franz Haas is a wine capable of evolving. In its youth, it presents intense straw-yellow hues that, after a few years, turn into a brilliant golden color. It has a concentrated and penetrating aroma and possesses a layered complexity that opens up to fruity and floral notes of elderflower and rose petals, with a hint of dried fruit that, over time, emerges with greater clarity. The sip is soft, full but very fine and fresh. It is long-lived and changeable, enriched with subtle elegance. It is no coincidence, in fact, that it has been dedicated to a woman, of whom it bears the name as a sign of loving devotion.
