Malbec 'Concreto' Familia Zuccardi 2020
Malbec 'Concreto' from the Argentine winery Familia Zuccardi is a noteworthy territorial expression that lends itself perfectly to accompany meat-based dinners. After carefully selecting the grapes, the wine is vinified using only indigenous yeasts and matured for a few months in cement vats. The intense ruby red colour and aromas of ripe fruit accompany a full, soft and long sip
The Malbec “Concreto” by Familia Zuccardi is produced in an area at the foot of the Andes near Malbec, a beautiful area dedicated to the production of red wines of excellent quality. Alberto Zuccardi fell in love with this land upon arriving in Argentina in 1960 and decided to invest in the production of quality wine, purchasing several hectares of land for viticulture. The working philosophy is centered on respecting the environment surrounding the vineyards, the ecosystem, and following the natural phases of growth and development of the plants. His son Sebastián currently manages the family business with great success, perpetuating the tradition in a forward-looking way.
The vineyards of the Malbec “Concreto” by Familia Zuccardi grow on soils mainly composed of rock, sand, and limestone, which is why they are suitable for the cultivation of the major indigenous grape varieties like Malbec for wines with a strong and structured character. The altitude is about 1100 meters above sea level and this results in cool, ventilated, and dry climates, also thanks to the presence of the Andes that blocks the passage of excessively cold winds, protecting the rows; significant temperature excursions between day and night contribute to a complete ripening of the grapes. The grape harvest is manual and in the winery, alcoholic and malolactic fermentation occurs thanks to the action of indigenous yeasts; before bottling, it ages for a few months in steel.
The color of the Malbec “Concreto” by Familia Zuccardi is an intense ruby red with brilliant reflections. The bouquet of aromas recalls red flowers, ripe red-fleshed fruit, and final hints of spices; on the palate, the body is elegant, fluid, and soft with well-integrated tannins in the overall structure. It has a good final persistence that invites glass after glass. It pairs perfectly with dishes based on grilled red meat, game, and first courses with meat; interesting also with aged cheeses. A wine to be kept in your personal cellar for romantic evenings in front of the fireplace in winter or for romantic summer sunsets, savoring all the authentic and genuine flavors of the Argentine land.
