The Lagrein "Rubatsch" is a rich and full-bodied red wine from Alto Adige, aged in barrique for 16 months. It features a typical very deep purple color and aromas of ripe berries, black fruit, spices and licorice. The sip reveals elegance, complexity, softness and vigorous tannins.

The “Rubatsch” is a wine with which the Manincor winery honors a great indigenous red grape variety from Trentino Alto Adige, Lagrein. It is a truly exemplary label of what this grape can offer in the glass, where the aromas of ripe fruit blend with a body of good structure, in which the sip is always characterized by an excellent tannic component, the true backbone on which the drinking experience develops. A bottle that the Manincor winery produces with great accuracy, following traditional processing practices, capable of faithfully reflecting the beauty of the Caldaro terroir.

The Manincor winery produces this “Rubatsch” Alto Adige DOC from pure Lagrein grapes, cultivated within the Rubatsch and Seehof vineyards, near Lake Caldaro. These are lands characterized by a subsoil composed of sand and clay, with a direct exposure to the southwest. The bunches, once harvested, are pressed, and a spontaneous fermentation begins in wooden vats thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts; the maceration continues for about two weeks. Then follows the aging, carried out for 16 months on the fine lees in 20% new barriques.

This Lagrein “Rubatsch” from Manincor presents itself in the glass with an intense and compact color, reminiscent of purple red. On the nose, predominantly fruity and spicy notes are found, the latter deriving from the slow aging in wood. On the palate, it has a good body, enveloping, characterized by a drinkable sip that fills the mouth with energetic tannins. A red wine that pairs well with various gastronomic accompaniments, but that will be truly useful during the colder seasons of the year, accompanying those main courses where meat and game are the main ingredients.
