The Lagrein Riserva 'Kelter' Cavit is a red wine from Trentino born in Val d'Adige. The aging in steel gives freshness and rich fruity notes, completing a full, enveloping and well-balanced sip. On the nose, the notes of cherry and berries are accompanied by delicate spicy hints of vanilla and cocoa. Perfect with meat dishes or aged cheeses

The Lagrein Riserva ‘Kelter’ from the important production reality of Cavit is a bottle from Trentino endowed with characteristic fruity and spicy aromas, the former provided by the grape variety while the latter due to the long aging in small wooden barrels. For the production of this Lagrein, belonging to the ‘Trentini Superiori’ line, which collects wines made with grapes from the best vineyards, clusters are harvested from the hilly areas of the Valle dell’Adige and in Vallagarina. The climate of these territories is sub-continental, with hot summers characterized by significant temperature variations between day and night, a fundamental prerequisite for the optimal technological, phenolic, and aromatic maturation of the grapes.

The ‘Kelter’ Cavit Lagrein Riserva is a pure Lagrein from vines cultivated partly on gravelly-stony soils consisting of moraine and glacial deposits and partly on calcareous and well-structured soils rich in pebbles and with a decent clay content, formed by deposits of ancient streams. The harvest is carried out entirely by hand with careful selection of the grapes and the clusters are then pressed in stainless steel tanks for alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature in contact with the skins. Subsequently, the mass is racked into oak barriques, containers in which malolactic fermentation and the prolonged aging phase take place, at the end of which the wine rests for an additional period between steel and bottle before final commercialization.

The Riserva Lagrein ‘Kelter’ by Cavit is ruby red in color with violet hues. On the nose, vivid aromas of berries, such as raspberry and blueberry, are perceived, enriched by pleasant spicy notes of vanilla and cocoa. The tasting is full, rich, and structured, not lacking in balance and elegance, with mature tannins accompanying the long persistence on the palate
