'It's Now or Never' Despeinada

The small Spanish winery Finca La Despeinada is the creator of the red wine 'It’s Now or Never', a Garnacha Tinta with great agility and straightforwardness. This winemaking reality was born in 2016 in the wine area of Terra Alta, in western Catalonia, from the passion of the couple Alex and Petra, he is French and she is Austrian. The couple immediately embraced an environmentally friendly viticulture, excluding the use of pesticides and only employing low doses of copper and sulfur to defend against phytopathogenic agents. The name 'It’s Now or Never' represents a tribute to the eponymous song by Elvis Presley.

'It’s Now or Never' Finca La Despeinada constitutes a pure expression of Garnacha Tinta, cultivated according to the principles of organic farming on soils rich in limestone. The vines are about 25 years old and benefit from the cool Mediterranean climate, characterized by a constant presence of sea breezes and significant daily temperature excursions in summer. After the manual harvest, the bunches are crushed in stainless steel tanks for spontaneous alcoholic fermentation, associated with 48 hours of skin maceration. The subsequent maturation period of a few months also takes place in steel and the mass is finally bottled without added sulfites.

The Garnacha Tinta from Catalonia 'It’s Now or Never' by Finca La Despeinada has a deep ruby red color. On the nose, fruity notes of cherry and berries are perceived, combined with spicy and delicately herbaceous descriptors. Smooth and drinkable on the palate, with soft tannins and lively freshness. A surprisingly juicy and dynamic red wine, suitable for grilled meats such as mixed skewers and lamb chops.
