The Valtellina Superiore Inferno by Rainoldi is an intense, broad and full-bodied red wine, characterized by great harmony and balance, aged in large barrels for 20 months. Red fruit, leather, licorice and balsamic herbs emerge from a dry, soft and pleasantly tannic texture

The Valtellina Superiore Inferno comes from the smallest and most rocky of the subzones that define this denomination. A hard and laborious terroir, where machines and mechanical work are almost unusable, relegating to man and his dedication the task of working the vineyards. Rainoldi, also thanks to the experience gained in almost a century of activity, is a master in interpreting these areas, giving life to bottles like the Inferno, in which aromas and flavors take on intense contours, destined to evolve further with the passing of the years.

This Valtellina Superiore Inferno is produced by the Rainoldi winery starting from pure grapes of one of the noblest red grape varieties in the entire Italian territory, the Nebbiolo, known in this part of Lombardy as Chiavennasca. The vineyards are located on steep slopes, situated at an altitude above sea level ranging from 300 to 550 meters, where every operation is carried out manually, giving rise to a viticulture that we could define as heroic. The grapes, carefully harvested to represent only the best of the terroir of origin, ferment slowly, macerating in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, with periodic pump-overs and punch downs.represent only the best of the terroir of origin, they ferment slowly, macerating in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, with periodic pump-overs and punch downs. The aging process then continues in two phases: 20 months in Slavonian oak barrels and, after bottling, another 9 months in glass.

The red wine Valtellina Superiore Inferno takes on a ruby color in the glass, which at the rim takes on slightly more garnet-like contours. The olfactory spectrum revolves around predominantly fruity notes, enriched by tertiary sensations derived from aging in wood. On the palate, it is of excellent body, vigorous, with a dry sip characterized by a beautiful tannic texture; it finishes with a persistent balsamic aftertaste. A bottle with which Rainoldi, a reference winery for Valtellina, confirms its vocation in the production of prestigious red wines.
