Grappa Amarone “Fuoriclasse Leon” is a Reserve Grappa produced form the distillation of red pomace form Valpolicella and aged for 18 months in barriques. At nose it is elegant, smooth and deep, with perfumes of dried fruits, coffee, tobacco and many sweet spices. On the palate it is velvety, harmonic, fruity, spicy and persistent

“Fuoriclasse Leon Amarone 18 months” is a Grappa Riserva with which Castagner pays homage to its region. If Grappa is indeed one of the symbols of drinking in Veneto, the same can be said for Amarone, a red that embodies the qualitative peak of the entire regional viticulture. The distillery's winning idea therefore arises from the desire to combine the two excellences into a product with a winning profile, which conquers the nose and palate with expressive and incisive aromas and flavors. A distillate that one cannot say no to!

The Grappa Riserva “Fuoriclasse Leon Amarone 18 months” Castagner is made from the pomace of those grape varieties that give rise to the legendary Amarone DOCG, specifically Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Molinara. Arriving fresh at the distillery, the pomace is immediately transferred to plastic containers, where it is kept in excellent condition, without undergoing oxidation or bacterial contamination. Once fermentation has begun, one can then proceed with the actual distillation, which uses both continuous and discontinuous. Once the Grappa is obtained, it is aged for 18 months in oak barriques, until it is deemed ready for bottling.

This Grappa Riserva “Fuoriclasse Leon Amarone 18 months” Castagner presents itself visually with a golden yellow color with good concentration. The nose is broad and layered, where various fragrant touches can be sensed, from spicy to fruity, with a particular hint of raisins. On the palate, it has a good body and enters with a nice dose of warmth, which helps make the drink smooth and enveloping. The tasting ends with a finish that has good persistence. A bottle that arises from the distillery's relentless pursuit of quality, leading to the creation of a refined label dedicated to the most experienced Grappa enthusiasts.
