Gin London Dry 'Floral' Vietnam Song Cai

The London Dry Gin ‘Floral’ Vietnam from the Song Cai distillery is a distillate with a unique and exotic spirit that combines the scents of the flowers of the mountains and the vast deltas of the rivers of Vietnam. In Vietnamese culture, the first and fifteenth day of each lunar month are traditionally celebrated with a characteristic flower used to scent homes, decorate family altars, or cook, demonstrating the strong bond between the local population and flowers. With this gin, the Vietnamese distillery Song Cai aims to condense the scents of the typical flowers of the country, creating a unique distillate.

‘Floral’ Gin London Dry Song Cai originates from the combination of five different flowers from Vietnam: the dragon claw flower, ylang-ylang, jasmine, magnolia, and pomelo flower. These flowers are macerated in a base of rice alcohol and molasses and then distilled separately in copper pot stills heated by direct fire according to the discontinuous method. This is followed by the assembly of the different flower distillates and the bottling with a colorful label inspired by Hang Trong, an ancient painting style characteristic of Vietnam.

To the eye, the London Dry Gin ‘Floral’ from Song Cai shows a transparent and crystalline appearance. The aromatic bouquet is broad and intense in its hints of ripe jackfruit, sour cherry, pomelo flowers, and pine needles, adorned with fresh and sweet distinctly floral scents. On the palate, it reveals vibrant freshness and rich notes of ylang-ylang, small forest berries, green pepper, and bee pollen. The finish evokes pleasant citrus and slightly spicy sensations.
