The Frappato "Bio Vegan" from the renowned Sicilian winery Nicosia is a fruity and fresh red wine perfect for everyday meals and to accompany wonderful vegetables. The namesake grapes are hand-harvested while the winemaking takes place entirely in steel and the wine ages for 2 months in bottle before being ready. Visually, it shows a ruby red color with brilliant violet hues, while the nose perceives aromas of small red fruits, flowers, and Mediterranean scrub. The sip is agile, fresh, and winey.

The Frappato “Bio Vegan” from Cantine Nicosia is a label that offers an innovative version of the famous Sicilian red, in line with the demands of a market that is increasingly attentive to the values of sustainability and respect for the environment. It is a biological, healthy, and genuine wine, certified vegan and made without added sulfites. The purity of a delicate and careful winemaking process, carried out entirely in steel, allows for the preservation of the refined and elegant floral and fruity aromas that characterize this ancient indigenous grape from Ragusa. Due to its particular characteristics, it pairs very well with pasta with meat or vegetable sauce, pasta alla norma, Sicilian caponata, vegetable couscous, fish soups, or a grilled tuna steak.

The Frappato “Bio Vegan” wine originates from one of the most important realities in Eastern Sicily. Cantine Nicosia is located in Trecastagni, on the eastern slope of Etna, and manages an estate with plots in different areas of the island. The Frappato vineyards are cultivated at an altitude of about 200 meters above sea level, on soils characterized by abundant presence of sand, which gives the wine a refined expressive finesse. The climate is warm and breezy, typically Mediterranean, refreshed only by the sea breezes. The harvest takes place during the month of September, and the grapes are sent for fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 22-24 °C, with maceration on the skins for a couple of weeks. The wine matures for a few months in steel and ages for 2 or 3 months in bottle before being put on sale.

The red Frappato “Bio Vegan” from Cantine Nicosia is a wine that clearly and transparently expresses the best varietal characteristics of the grape, offering a glass characterized by the direct expression of the grape. In appearance, it has a light and very bright ruby red color, with slight violet reflections. The olfactory profile is fine and delicate, with floral scents, aromas of raspberry, red currant, wild strawberries, and nuances of aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean scrub. The taste is clear and smooth, with velvety tannins, ripe and pleasantly fragrant fruit, leading to a savory finish with great freshness.
