The Lombard estate Lantieri de Paratico presents the Franciacorta Extra Brut ‘Arcadia’, a sparkling wine characterized by an aromatic profile played on floral and bakery sensations. The ancient and noble Brescia family Lantieri de Paratico has been linked to the Franciacorta territory since as far back as 930 AD, while wine production dates back to the 16th century, when the Lantieri supplied the Gonzaga court. Today the winery is located within the medieval village of Capriolo, where the ancient family palace is also situated.
The Franciacorta Extra Brut ‘Arcadia’ from the sparkling wine reality Lantieri de Paratico is made from a blend of Chardonnay (80%), Pinot Nero (15%), and Pinot Bianco (5%), varieties grown on siliceous and clayey soils, particularly rich in limestone. After manual harvesting, the grapes undergo a gentle pressing, followed by alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature between stainless steel tanks and small oak barrels, wine containers in which the subsequent phase of maturation of a few months on the fine lees. The masses are then blended to create the sparkling base, which is bottled for the second fermentation according to the Metodo Classico, with at least 42 months of aging on the lees in glass before disgorgement and the subsequent Extra Brut dosage.
‘Arcadia’ Franciacorta Lantieri de Paratico Extra Brut has a straw yellow color with golden reflections and fine, persistent bubbles. The nose expresses fragrant and refined hints of citrus, ripe fruit, yellow flowers, vanilla, and brioche. Soft is the effervescence on the palate, accompanied by lively freshness and intense, soft fruity sensations that lead to a long and harmonious finish.
