The Côtes du Rhône Domaine de la Coudette Rouge from the French winery Les Vignerons d’Estézargues represents a balanced and accessible label, with an exceptional quality/price ratio. The name of this cuvée derives from the small hill of Mour de la Coudette, located north of Estézargues, about 200 meters above sea level. The cooperative winery Les Vignerons d’Estézargues is located a few kilometers west of the city of Avignon and has been committed since the 1980s to producing high-quality wines made without the use of additives, while also engaging in the separate vinification of the numerous plots available in order to reflect the different characteristics of the areas.
Les Vignerons d’Estézargues Côtes du Rhône Rouge Domaine de la Coudette consists of a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre, varieties grown according to the principles of organic farming. After the harvest, carried out slightly late, the bunches are transferred to the winery where alcoholic fermentation takes place spontaneously in steel tanks thanks to the action of indigenous yeasts, associated with a few weeks of contact between the must and the skins. The subsequent aging period of a few months also takes place in steel and the wine is finally bottled without undergoing clarification or filtration operations.
Domaine de la Coudette-Estézargues Côtes du Rhône Rouge presents itself with a dark purplish red hue. Vivid hints of red flowers and berries characterize the nose, enriched by subtle spicy notes and pleasantly rustic hints. On the palate, it is soft, fresh, and juicy, with very fine tannins that lead to a distinctly fruity finish.
