The Chardonnay "Lafòa" is an intense and soft white wine from Alto Adige, vinified and matured in new and used barriques. On the nose, alpine flowers, mountain herbs, butter, and dried fruit. On the palate, it is soft, creamy, and buttery, characterized by a driving freshness.

The Chardonnay “Lafoa” is one of the standout products in the entire range produced by Colterenzio in Appiano. It is indeed a bottle that belongs to the “selections” line, whose name refers to the great qualitative revolution initiated in the 1980s by Colterenzio, a cooperative that started a path focused on absolute quality and low yields in the vineyard during that period. A not easy path, which, after a few decades, leads to the creation of labels like “Lafoa”, where the Chardonnay grape expresses itself at levels that are nothing short of excellent. Personality and character abound both on the nose and in the mouth, where the sip flows thanks to a truly pleasant refreshing component.

The “Lafoa” is a pure Chardonnay that the Colterenzio winery obtains from old vines cultivated using the trellis method, which grow within vineyards located at an altitude between 400 and 550 meters above sea level. The terroir is mainly composed of a morenic and sandy subsoil, and in the vineyard, where principles of organic farming are followed, yields are kept voluntarily low, around 45 quintals per hectare, in order to favor the growth of few but important bunches. The grapes, carefully selected during the harvest phase, once brought to the winemaking facilities of Colterenzio, ferment in both new and used barriques, also undergoing malolactic fermentation. We then move on to the maturation phase, which lasts for 10 months in oak barriques, both used and new.

The Chardonnay "Lafoa" is a wine that, upon visual examination, presents itself with a bright, inviting golden yellow color in the glass. The bouquet of aromas that constitutes the olfactory profile of this product originates from fruity and floral notes, evolving into more buttery aromas. On the palate, it is full-bodied, soft, round, and rich, with a sip that flows across the palate with remarkable freshness. A label with which the Colterenzio winery reaches significant qualitative peaks, as also confirmed bythe excellent recognitions obtained from the main Italian and foreign reference guides.
