The Extra Brut "R.D." by Bollinger is one of the most important and well-known Champagne comes from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, left to refine in the bottle on the lees for at least 10 years. The bouquet is captivating, rich and intense, ranging from quince and honey until nutty aromas and star anise; The taste is powerful and balanced, with a finale of beautiful freshness and minerality

The Champagne Extra Brut “R.D.” by Bollinger is an icon, one of those timeless classics that will always serve as a reference model for those who wish to understand Champagne and for those who want to continue producing something that can leave you speechless. Concentrated with class and elegance? Absolutely yes, but it is also much more. It has within it that enchanting and gentle charm of maturity conferred by an incredibly long aging on the lees, and it is full of life to tell; but it also has a particular nerve and character, given by its uniqueness. Uniqueness because the R.D. is produced only in Great Vintage years and is awaited for a long time. Time indeed plays a decisive role for this Champagne, along with boldness and rarity. It is not just an excellent Champagne, but it is an incredible treasure that astonishes with its complexity and personality.

“R.D.” Extra Brut Champagne by Bollinger is similar to a finely crafted work of artfinely in every little detail. This is why the grapes used for the cuvée, composed of 60% Pinot Nero and 40% Chardonnay, come from as many as 23 Crus. For the first grape variety, the vineyards used are mainly located in the areas of Ay, Verzenay, Bouzy, and Tauxieres; the Chardonnay vines are instead found in Cramant, Le Mesnil-Sur-Oger, Oger, and Cuis. In total, it is 71% Grand Cru and 29% Premier Cru. The fermentation of the base wines takes place entirely in barrel and the refermentation in bottle with subsequent aging on the lees lasts three times longer than the minimum required by the regulations, reaching 45 months of aging.

The Extra Brut Champagne “R.D.” by Bollinger has a color that leans towards golden hues, further enriched by the fine and very lively perlage. Surprisingly, the first impact on the nose is that of a fresh aroma, almost still young, which then opens up to sweet notes of honey and ripe fruit, dried fruit, a hint of anise spice, and the enveloping texture of biscuit. Introduced into the mouth, thisChampagne clearly showcases its class, given by a creamy and engaging sip but fresh and very mineral. A great, truly great wine, an exceptional Champagne, a myth that has entered the history of the French bubble, but above all, a unique experience.
