Champagne Extra Brut BdB "Vignes Montgueux" from the French winery Jacques Lassaigne is an elegant bubbly that blends creaminess and freshness to perfection. This label is made from pure Chardonnay grapes harvested and selected by hand and matured on the lees for 48 months. The golden yellow colour accompanies a fine, persistent perlage while aromas of crisp white fruit and toasted hints intoxicate the nose. The palate is soft, mineral, savoury, rich and long

With the Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs “Vignes Montgueux” by Jacques Lassaigne, we land in the wonderful wine region of Champagne with a one-way ticket. Welcoming us are Ludovic and Emmanuel, the sons of the historic founder of the Lassaigne house, Jacques. These young men represent a new and brilliant generation of Récoltants Manipulants based in Montgueux, 12 kilometers north of the historic capital of Champagne: Troyes. Here, the vines, which easily reach 50 years of age, are kept low to naturally defend themselves against the harsh winters and cold winds typical of the area.

This Champagne “Vignes Montgueux” is a true Blanc de Blancs and is precisely born from a targeted selection of only Chardonnay grapes that take root in soils rich in gypsum and limestone, typical of the Côte des Blancs. Among the rows, grass grows wild and organic farming is practiced alongside the use of biodynamic preparations, with the aim of altering the as little as possible the natural sap of the grape and let the mineral vein inherent in the soils emerge. In the cellar, this Extra Brut is processed with the same gentle approach: fermentation is spontaneous in wooden barrels, the use of sulfur is minimized, and aging on the lees lasts for at least 48 months in bottle.

The Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut by Jacques Lassaigne has become over time a benchmark for high-quality Champagne production in the village of Montgueux, considered by many to be a terroir on par with Montrachet in Burgundy. This Champagne convinces from the first glance with elegance and typicity: the color is deep golden with a fine and continuous perlage, on the nose it emanates delicate sensations of white flowers and juicy citrus, accompanied by creamier tones of yeast and bread crust. It fills the mouth, sip after sip, with a pleasant mineral and citrus length and refinement to spare. Excellent to uncork on occasions of conviviality and celebration, paired with a platter of fresh cheeses or raw or steamed shellfish.
