Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo Superiore 'Villa Gemma' Masciarelli 2024

The Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo Superiore “Villa Gemma” confirms the great Abruzzese tradition of producing rosé wines with Montepulciano, the most widespread native red grape variety in the area. It is a young and lively rosé, fragrant and aromatic, which well expresses the convivial joy of sharing a pleasant moment in company. Its good structure and persistence make it particularly versatile at the table, where it pairs excellently with appetizers, first courses, and delicate meat or stewed fish second courses. Perfect for accompanying fish soups or seafood broths, but also suitable for informal convivial occasions with pizza and fresh cheeses.

The grapes used to produce the Villa Gemma Cerasuolo Superiore come from the area of the municipalities of San Martino and San Marrucina. The vineyards are cultivated at about 400 meters above sea level, on clay-limestone soils rich in skeleton. The continental climate, cool and breezy, ensures significant temperature fluctuations, which favor the slow ripening of the grapes with an intense aromatic profile. After harvesting, the grapes are gently pressed and subjected to a maceration for 24 hours. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks, at a controlled temperature of 10/13 °C. After a few months of aging in steel, the wine is bottled and put on sale in the spring following the harvest.

The Superiore Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo Villa Gemma by Masciarelli presents itself with a beautiful bright cerasuolo color. The olfactory profile seduces with the fragrance and delicacy of the aromas of small berries and cherry, enriched by elegant floral hints. The sip is crunchy and captivating, with fragrant fruit, lively freshness, and a clear mineral sapid vein. The finish is pleasantly persistent.
