Carta d'Oro' Rallo 2025
Organic and biodynamic
Perfect to drink every dayThe “Carta d’Oro” from Rallo wineries is a light and fruity white wine from Sicily with an excellent quality/price ratio, perfect for pairing with home cooking, appetizers, and delicate fish dishes. It has a fruity and floral aromatic profile, with notes of exotic fruit, white flowers, aromatic herbs, and pleasant marine nuances.
The Carta d'Oro from Cantine Rallo is a Sicilian white wine fresh, young, and light with excellent balance and beautiful expressive immediacy. It is made from white grapes grown in the area between Alcamo and Monreale, predominantly from Catarratto, the most widespread and typical variety of the place, with a small addition of other grape varieties perfectly acclimatized on the gentle hilly slopes of the Patti Piccolo area, the green productive heart of Cantine Rallo. From the historic union between man, environment, and viticultural traditions, closely linked, also from a toponymic point of view, to the ancient Arab domination, comes a label that simply expresses the aromas and flavors of these lands, where the sea breezes coming from the north crash against the slopes of Monte Caputo.
The Patti Piccolo estate represents the largest vineyard owned by Cantine Rallo: a reality of over 100 hectares in size, which also includes woods, cultivated fields, and olive groves. The vineyards are cultivated with great efficiency and in respect of the principles of organic farming.
The grapes harvested here between the end of August and the first days of September are brought to the modern winery located in Marsala, where the entire production process takes place, from pressing to vinification in steel, followed by aging of at least 6 months. The Carta d'Oro from Rallo can be summarized by attributes of simplicity and lightness; attributes that in Sicily are never synonymous with banality and that the winery has been able to enhance by combining them in terms of pleasantness, quality, and versatility. It is indeed an everyday white capable of accompanying many dishes, especially those based on fish and shellfish, but also vegetables, cheeses, and appetizers in general. Its name is indicative of the vivid yellow color it appears in the glass, animated by beautiful golden hues. Its fruity and floral nature, crossed by light and delicate marine breezes rich in iodine, is well summarized by the metaphorical description that appears on the label, where this wine seems to take on the features of a beautiful Norman queen or a golden card on which writings and
deep and evocative messages: “Dressed in gold, queen of the banquet, she is cloaked in white among the scents of the path, the card that sings of earth and rows.”
