Borgo Stignani Vigne dei Boschi
Artisanal
Unusual grapes"Borgo Stignani" is a red wine from Emilia Romagna with an intense and structured profile, but with great typicality and territorial adherence. Ethereal and fruity hints come together in a full-bodied and expressive aromatic profile, characterized by lively tannins.
The Borgo Stignani Vigne dei Boschi is a red wine with great expressiveness and territorial identity. Its originality and pleasant characteristics are due to the uniqueness of the territory and the agricultural techniques studied by the owner, Paolo Babini, who in 1989 decided to open his agricultural activity after a careful climatic and geological study of the chosen area. We are 400 meters above sea level, and the temperature swings between day and night allow for a slower maturation of the grapes, which enhances the expressiveness of aromas and flavors.
To obtain the red "Borgo Stignani," Paolo and Katia rely on biodynamic agriculture, which sees the total absence of synthetic treatments and a care for the plants through the exclusive use of natural products. The red grapes undergo a long maceration on the skins, lasting almost three months. It ferments spontaneously, in steel, thanks to the action of indigenous yeasts, and after aging, it is bottled without undergoing clarifications and filtrations.
The Borgo Stignani surprises right away. Opening the bottle, the nectar presents itself as a vivid, intense red with garnet hues. The nose is teased by important tertiary tones such as coffee, pepper, and white chocolate, expertly balanced by a striking and fresh overripe fruit that balances the long aging in wood. With the first sip, it envelops the palate thanks to an important tannin; subsequently, the mineral and fresh part appears, which strongly encourages drinking. A multifaceted, energetic, and layered bottle that offers a clear territorial imprint for a truly extraordinary quality-price ratio.
