Blanc 'Salvia' Christophe Marin 2021
ArtisanalChristophe Marin's Blanc 'Sage' is a very fresh and well-balanced white wine made from Macabeu, a grape variety of Spanish origin that is widespread in Languedoc-Roussillon. It expresses notes of white-fleshed fruit, acacia flowers and hints of aromatic herbs, while on the palate it's fine, delicate, with a long and persistent finish in which a pleasant mineral vein stands out. A very versatile white wine in pairings, excellent with sushi, grilled fish, vegetarian starters or white meats!
The Blanc “Salvia” from Domaine Christophe Marin is a wine with a typically territorial face, made with the Macabeu grape in purity, a variety widespread along the entire Mediterranean coast, descending from Roussillon to Catalonia. It is a harmonious and sunny white, which sees the light in the Perpignan area, breathing in the saline breezes of the Mediterranean Sea. Christophe perfectly embodies the role of the passionate vigneron of his land, who works personally in the vineyard with the aim of offering honest and genuine wines, the offspring of excellent grapes and careful, meticulous work in the cellar, aimed solely at enhancing the raw material with minimal winemaking intervention.
The “Salvia” Blanc from Domaine Christophe Marin is a wine that originates in the Maury area, specifically in the Vallée de l’Agly, where the vigneron cultivates 11 hectares of vineyards following the principles of biodynamics. Among the rows, he uses only sulfur, copper, horn manure, horn silica, and natural preparations, in order to respect the environment, the fertility of the soils, and the natural biodiversity of the delicate, highlights a ripe and rich fruit, supported by a clear freshness, leading to a long and savory finish.
