The "Tre Tine" by Giuseppe Rinaldi is one of the most exciting and personal portraits of Langa, a photograph of Barolo that blends austerity with a sensual fleshiness. A few thousand bottles each year for a family reality that has managed to win the hearts of enthusiasts with vibrant and multifaceted liquids, also thanks to an absolutely non-interventionist approach that gives the wine spontaneity and depth. A family linked to the history of Barolo, that of the Rinaldis, whose winemaking origins date back to the early 1800s with the ownership of the first vineyards and consolidated over past generations thanks to the belief in making wines that did not follow trends but only the taste of the Langhe tradition. Today at the helm are Giuseppe and his daughter Marta, who already seems ready to take the reins of the winery while maintaining the austere interpretation of a great grape like Nebbiolo.
The wine "Tre Tine" is a Barolo that comes from the vineyards of Cannubi, San Lorenzo, and Ravera from pure Nebbiolo grapes. The name of the wine derives fromfrom the legislative impossibility of writing the names of all three vineyards on the label, although the practice of blending is inherent in the cultural tradition of Barolo. In the vineyard, the approach is as respectful as possible; in fact, chemical treatments are banned and only a bit of copper and sulfur is used. Vinification continues following the same belief, with fermentations that take place in cement tanks, only with indigenous yeasts and long macerations on the skins lasting from 30 to 50 days without temperature control. The liquid ages as per tradition in large barrels for about 42 months before a resting period in glass.
The Barolo "Tre Tine" by Rinaldi has a garnet hue, as per the Langhe wine manual. The nose is an effusion of dog rose, cherry, and balsamic notes, all expressed with a noble rusticity and such a direct expressive mode that it surprises and conquers. Few tastings remain more indelible in mind than Beppe's liquids, and the "Tre Tine" is no exception. A pulsating and vibrant matter that, despite its youth, showsincredibly already enjoyable and three-dimensional. A paradigmatic example of an author wine, it is an exceptional wine with the potential to improve further in the coming years. Unmissable.
