The Trousseau from Villet is a red wine that is spontaneous and authentic, faithfully reflecting its territory of origin, the Jura region. It is aged in used barriques and presents a juicy and fresh profile, tannic and direct, with hints of berries, underbrush, spices, aromatic herbs, and a pleasant mineral backbone.

The Arbois Trousseau by Gerard Villet originates in the Jura region of France, particularly in Arbois, the first AOC in France. The winery has historical origins, as the first winemaking activity dates back to the early 1900s; from generation to generation, the passion for this world has been passed down until it reaches Gerard today, who, assisted by his wife Christine, has brought a breath of renewal, officially obtaining organic farming certification in 1988.

The pure Trousseau grapes of the Arbois Trousseau by Gerard Villet grow on historically suited soils for wine production: as early as the tenth century, the first presence of vine plants in this area is documented. Gerard manages about 5 hectares entirely cultivated with vines, divided into 7 different parcels that rest on soils predominantly composed of clay and limestone, for elegant and characterful wines. All grapes are strictly hand-harvested, and in the winery, spontaneous alcoholic fermentation occurs thanks to the action of indigenous yeasts. It ages for a few months in used barriques.

The Arbois Trousseau by Gerard Villet is an intense ruby red color with brilliant reflections. On the nose, it releases notes of underbrush and dark red berry fruits; sweet spices and aromatic herbs are also perceived. On the palate, it initially presents freshness and mineral notes and a good tannin well integrated into the structure. It is recommended to pair with dishes based on typical cuts of red meat from French tradition cooked on the grill and stewed, as well as cured meats; interesting also with aged cheeses. Excellent to enjoy during barbecues with lifelong friends, sipping a wine that is an ambassador of the multiple potentials of the French land.
