Albana Secco 'InTerra' Tenuta La Viola 2022
Artisanal
Organic and biodynamicAlbana Secco "InTerra" by Tenuta La Viola is an ancestral, deep and aromatic wine that macerates for six months in contact with the skins in Georgian amphorae, acquiring elegant orange hues and a full, intense sip of great character. The nose expresses deep notes of yellow-fleshed fruit surrounded by balsamic and floral hints, while the palate is vibrant and enveloping, supported by a firm, biting tannic texture and a pleasant minerality
Tenuta La Viola presents the Albana Secco "InTerra", an orange wine with a broad and structured breath that testifies to the exceptional versatility of the most important white grape variety of Romagna. The Albana is indeed one of the Italian varieties with the greatest oenological plasticity, being vinified in the most disparate styles and types: dry, sweet, passito, sparkling, and, indeed, orange. This is partly attributable to the high concentration of sugars and organic acids in the ripe grape, parameters that allow for the production of both balanced dessert wines and fresh sparkling bases. Furthermore, the high presence of tannins in the skin allows for the production of white wines with great structure and character, also endowed with excellent longevity.
"InTerra" Albana Secco Tenuta La Viola is a 100% Albana from grapes coming from a vineyard owned located in the San Martino area and managed under certified organic regime. The plants benefit from the clay-limestone matrix of the soils, from the altitude between the 100 and 200 meters above sea level and the presence of breezes coming from the nearby Adriatic Sea. After manual harvesting and careful selection, the bunches are pressed in Georgian amphorae of 300, 400, and 600 liters for spontaneous alcoholic fermentation accompanied by as much as 6 months of skin maceration. Once maceration is complete, the wine is racked and bottled without prior filtration.
The Albana Secco "InTerra" from Tenuta La Viola has a beautiful golden yellow hue with intense orange reflections. Vivid and decisive is the olfactory panorama, described by warm suggestions of yellow-fleshed fruit that blend with mineral puffs and hints of aromatic herbs and wildflowers. The sip, full and enveloping, reveals itself to be tannic and savory, with a long persistence on the palate.
